Primary Function
The Field Safety Lead is responsible for providing day-to-day safety leadership, coordination, and technical guidance to Field Safety Representatives across assigned project sites. Serving as the first point of contact for field safety matters, the Field Safety Lead ensures consistent execution of safety standards, mentors field safety personnel, and escalates issues requiring management action to the Safety Manager. This is a fully field-based role requiring regular presence at active construction sites, with the majority of time spent observing operations, coaching crews, and reinforcing safe work practices.
This is a project-based position and will report to Dashiell’s Safety Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:

Serve as the primary field point of contact for Field Safety Representatives, providing daily guidance, direction, and support on safety execution across assigned project sites.

Coordinate field safety coverage, scheduling, and resource deployment in collaboration with the Safety Manager.

Monitor and ensure consistent application of safety standards, procedures, and documentation requirements across all assigned sites.

Escalate safety concerns, resource needs, and unresolved issues to the Safety Manager in a timely manner.

Conduct periodic field reviews of Field Safety Representative performance, providing constructive feedback and coaching.

Maintain a visible and active presence at project sites to observe operations, identify hazards, and reinforce safe work practices.

Develop and implement pre-job safety execution plans and Job Safety Task Analyses (JSTAs).

Perform jobsite safety audits, inspections, and consultations addressing compliance, procedural, subcontractor, equipment, and environmental concerns.

Support high-risk activities including energized work, confined space entry, lockout/tagout, and heavy equipment operations.

Ensure inspection, testing, and proper documentation of safety equipment including insulated tools, rubber goods, protective grounds, and fall protection systems.

Lead on-site incident investigations, including injuries, vehicle incidents, near misses, and third-party events; perform root cause analysis and coordinate corrective actions with the Safety Manager.

Review and verify safety-related documentation such as permits (Confined Space, LOTO, Energized/Close Proximity Work) and driver logs.

Prepare reports and maintain records related to investigations, audits, permits, and safety documentation; ensure timely and accurate completion of all required submissions.

Represent the company during client safety meetings, audits, and third-party reviews at the site level.

Support client and contractor safety professionals as needed; serve as the on-site safety liaison for client-driven safety initiatives.

Participate in monthly internal Safety Committee meetings and represent field safety operations during committee discussions.

Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to Field Safety Representatives and field personnel on safety initiatives and compliance expectations.

Conduct and oversee safety and compliance training including Safety Orientations, Equipment Operation, Forklift, Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, First Aid/CPR, and DOT compliance.

Plan, schedule, and conduct jobsite safety meetings; attend daily, weekly, and client-mandated meetings as required.

Support the Safety Manager in development and continuous improvement of safety programs, standards, and best practices.
