Primary Function:

The Fleet Assistant supports the Fleet & Equipment Department at DACON with a focus on data entry, documentation management, and system accuracy to ensure efficient fleet operations. The position will be based in our Deer Park, Texas office located at 1300 Underwood Rd, Deer Park, TX 77536 and will report to Senior Fleet Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:

  • Maintain equipment files and documentation ensuring accuracy and organization.
  • Assist with CARB tracking, updates, and compliance documentation.
  • Support ZONAR and LYTX systems by maintaining accurate data entries.
  • Perform data entry tasks related to equipment, inspections, and fleet records.
  • Track expiration dates for registrations, inspections, and compliance items.
  • Process, upload, and organize documents within company systems.
  • Prepare basic reports and tracking spreadsheets for internal use.
  • Support administrative workflows and assist team members as needed.
  • Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Ensure fleet records are accurate and up to date, supporting compliance and operational readiness across all equipment.
  • Contribute to departmental efficiency by maintaining well-organized and accessible documentation systems.
  • Help DACON meet regulatory requirements through timely tracking and reporting of compliance items such as CARB and registration deadlines.
  • Provide reliable administrative support that allows the Fleet & Equipment team to focus on higher-level operations.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. No prior experience required; entry-level applicants are encouraged to apply.

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn fleet management systems (ZONAR, LYTX) and company processes.
  • Driving is not required for this position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and operating office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to occasionally stand and walk within an office environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
