RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking a CAD Technician to provide CAD drafting support services to our substation group. The primary responsibility of the role is to prepare/revise a large variety of drawings for substation projects including, but not limited to: electrical (physical, and protection and control), civil, and structural.  Drawings will be done using either AutoCAD, Microstation, or other CAD applications as necessary.  This position will be responsible for maintaining clean and orderly computer files and directories using established policies and procedures. This role may provide direction/support to CAD Technicians.  Of critical responsibility is meeting project schedules and budgets. 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associates Degree, emphasis in Computer Aided Drafting.  In lieu of degree, equivalent work experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications (AutoCAD, Microstation, Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat etc.) is required. 
  • Ability to interact successfully with all levels of staff, clients and vendors.  Able to work in a collaborative process. 
  • Efficient use of software, materials and equipment is required, resulting in minimal operational cost. All work time, unless otherwise directed, will be spent performing work that is billable.
  • Attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills, and ability to multi-task.
  • Dedication to completing a project on schedule is essential.  Efficient use of time is critical.  Working unusual and extended hours to meet project deadlines is sometimes necessary.
  • Candidate must pass a Background Screening & Drug Testing (required).
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
 
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Work experience in consulting engineering industry preferred.
 
Candidates will be placed in the appropriate job title based on education, years of experience and industry knowledge.
